Vietnamese New Year or TẾT is around the corner. This year, Tết is on Saturday, January 29, 2022. TẾT is the most important holiday that the Vietnamese communities celebrate around the world, including the Vietnamese American Community in San Francisco. In that spirit, the Au Co Vietnamese Cultural Center would like to invite all of you to come to our annual Tet celebration.


Tết celebration on 1/29/22 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Playground "Outdoor Activity".


•  There will be games and lucky money for students and karaoke for participants. Entertainment performed by all students, instructors and Youth Team members. Lunch will be provided.


•  All parents are invited to attend and join us in celebrating a beautiful Vietnamese tradition. We are also asking for parent volunteers to help set up, serve foods and host games, as well as assistance in cleaning up afterwards.

Please be reminded that all the center programs and activities will be closed on Saturday, 2/5/2022, in observance of Tết. The center will be opened on Saturday, 2/12/2022.



This year, Âu Cơ Vietnamese Cultural Center will be hosting its twelfth annual spring traditional showcase with performances by professional musicians, dancers, and the Au Co Youth Team. The show will take place on Sunday, May 29, 2022, 1:30 - 3:30 P.M. at California Palace of the Legion of Honor – Gunn Theater, 100 34th Ave, San Francisco, CA 94121.

To preserve and promote traditional music, Au Co Vietnamese Cultural Center is enrolling new students and returning for the “Đàn Tranh & Đàn Bầu” (Vietnamese Zither) class.  Students must be 6 years of age or older. The first session will start on September 25th, 2021 for every Saturday between 9:15-12:30 pm. at Martin Luther King MS, 350 Girard Street, San Francisco CA 94134


The class will be taught by Ms. Van-Anh Vo with the assistance of Sử Việt Zithers Group. Ms. Vo has been teaching the Zithers “Dan Tranh & Dan Bau” classes at Au Co Center over 10 years. Every year, she leads the Sử Việt Zither Group to perform around the country such as Thi Ca & Sử Việt at the Legion of Honors, Oakland Symphony Paramount Theater, The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. etc… 


The class will be open in sessions. Each session has four weeks class, from Beginners to Advance:


• For New Beginner level: 4 weeks session $145, from 11:00-11:45 am.

(Include 1 class session with Master Van Anh Vo, 3 class sessions with apprentice) 


• For Intermediate and Advance Level, please contact Master Van Anh Vo for a time slot. 

Tuition fee rate level for Intermediate and Advance level:

$90 per 55-min apprentice class, $360 per 4 weeks session

$80 per 55-min regular class, $320 per 4 weeks session

$70 per 45-min class, $280 per 4 weeks session

Vietnamese Language for Adult Beginners



AU CO CENTER is offering a Vietnamese language class for those who want to learn Beginning Vietnamese.

Instructor will be Ms. Hoa Quynh Luong, from Vietnam and currently teaching Vietnamese language class at SFUSD.

School Year 2021-2022


After a prolonged pandemic year, Au Co Vietnamese Cultural Center can finally reopen and return to in-person learning classes, beginning Fall 2021.


The first of Saturday Language School will be August 21st, 2021. School will be in session every Saturday from 8/21/2021 to 5/28/2022, with classroom hours from 9:15 A.M. to 12:30 P.M., located at Martin Luther King Jr. MS, 350 Girard Street, San Francisco, CA 94134.


Returning Student Registration information:


During the pandemic (beginning March 2020), Au Co Center offered virtual learning classes with the goal of maintaining our students’ Vietnamese language skills at their highest levels. However, we also see the importance of getting back to learning in-person as the best way to learn Vietnamese. Therefore, the teachers and administration staff have decided that all returning students who were attending the Vietnamese language classes for the school year 2019-2020, will remain at the same grade level. If you are not sure which grade level your child attended in 2019, please find your child’s name on the Student Roster posted on our website.


New Student Registration information:


New students to the Vietnamese Language Program can now register and pay online. Save time: PLEASE DO NOT WAIT until the first day of class. Please use our online registration link and payment process. Parents are required to bring their payment receipt to the New Student Registration Desk on August 21st to have a class assignment for their child.
